I write stories that promote a deeper connection with ourselves, one another, and nature.
Currently, I’m promoting my third novel, Sentient Being. Sentient Being is the final installment of the Sentient trilogy, exploring the depths of the human spirit. The themes in this novel happen to be the elements of life that I find most important; freedom, non-judgment and compassion for all beings. It is a book about how we respond to the climate crisis, our relationship with animals, and other timely issues such as immigration and LGBTQIA+ representation.
I discovered writing at the age of seven and quickly fell in love with the craft. I love writing fiction that generates discussion and quandary rather than answers. My past works of literary fiction, as well as the Sentient dystopian series, dip into magical realism and speculative fiction. I have been writing books part-time since 2014. I’ve been vegan for over ten years and see my work as a reflection of my desire for social justice. I’ve also had experience working with people living with HIV/AIDS, the severely mentally ill, and to this day I continue my “day job” as a social worker. I’ve traveled to Central America six times and have worked with undocumented immigrants in the past.
I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work as well as a Bachelor’s in English. I am also a certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher. In my spare time if I’m not outdoors spending time in nature, I’m enjoying time with friends, family, and my one-eyed cat Lucky.
I’m based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
